Although it's not as clear-cut as some other sites, we have done all we can to locate internet porn numbers. We will be looking at:

History of internet porn.

An estimated four to 37 percent of the internet was porn in years past.

It's a broad range of possibilities. Even the BBC, who reported the information, acknowledges that it's difficult to determine how much of the internet contains porn.

In 2010, the study that determined that 37 percent of internet users are pornographic was published. It makes sense that the four percent statistic was also calculated in 2010.

Internet porn dates back at least to 1994. Gary Kremen, the founder of match.com registered sex.com. Back then, there were only 2,793 websites, so at least 0.002793% internet porn.

However, it's not as easy as it seems. Back when porn was only available to those who were interested and could afford it, it was more popular on the internet.

The 20- to 30-year-old men who were able to access porn and spread it online were known as the "porn slayers".

Imagine your life in 2010. Did you have the internet at home in 2010? The first smartphone to be able to access the internet was in 2001. The first iPhone was launched in 2005. YouTube was launched in 2005, while Facebook opened to the public only in 2006.

The fact is that there was not a lot of content online when these studies were conducted so it's plausible to believe that a substantial portion of the internet back then was pornography.

What are the number of porn websites available on the Internet?

It's impossible to count the number of porn websites available online. It is easy to make a website and then take some nudes and another porn site is available.

While we cannot measure all of the internet's potential, we can see some of the most important websites around the globe.

As you can see only one porn site is included in the top ten most visited sites worldwide.

Twitter is a popular social network that contains porn. It's also the fourth most visited and second most used. It has 436,000,000 users, but it is visited by many people. Hot porn could be why.

We can now see the 11 and 20 most popular websites.

• XNXX is fourteenth

• Pornhub in 17th place

• Reddit is in the nineteenth place

Reddit is definitely a porn site. one Redditor calculated that 22% of subreddits had more than 100,000 users and were considered NSFW.

This means that 25% are porn sites. These sites are visited by an average of nine and a quarter minutes per visitor, which is more than enough time to slap one.

How many people look for porn online?

It's easy to create a porn site and they are popular, but it's still useful to see how many people are actively searching for it.

The internet works in the same way as any other market: if someone is looking for something, they will find it on the web.

Ahrefs is a web tool that gives insight into the amount of search traffic these sites receive. These are the three most popular porn sites.

• Xvideos receives 1.2 billion searches each month

• XNXX receives 2.8 billion searches per month

• PornHub receives 1.5 billion visits each month after an internet search

This puts it in context: Instagram receives approximately 1.6 billion searches per month. They are on par with the major players on the internet.

What is the amount of porn on the internet?

There are many ways to measure the amount of porn on the internet. Because of the huge amount of sites being created and deactivated every day, the total number is not accurate.

It is important to look at the most visited sites on the internet. This shows how much of the internet has been used for porn. The traffic to these sites via searches is a good indicator of how many people are actively looking for porn.

Although we won't be able to give a percentage of internet porn, we know that the internet is full of it because people are constantly looking for it.
